How cool am I?

Not very.

I hereby confess…

at various points in my long life,

in an earnest effort to win the admiration of family, friends and acquaintances,

that I very purposefully memorized the lyrics to the following songs:

  1. Breakfast in America by Supertramp
  2. One Way or Another by Blondie
  3. The Teddy Bear’s Picnic by Henry Hall & His Orchestra
  4. China Girl by David Bowie
  5. pretty much everything on the Rapture album by Anita Baker
  6. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  7. Ballroom Blitz by Sweet
  8. Imagine by John Lennon
  9. Jump In The Line by Harry Belafonte
  10. Something Good by Rodgers & Hammerstein (from The Sound of Music)
  11. The Partridge Family Album (all of it)
  12. Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield (not the greatest live performance sound on this one, but couldn’t find anything better…and…well…he rocks anyway)
  13. Honey Bun by Rodgers & Hammerstein (from South Pacific – couldn’t find a Mary Martin version for you, so Mitzi Gaynor will have to do…and she does, quite nicely :))
  14. How Much Is That Doggy In The Window by Patti Page
  15. Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin
  16. May Tomorrow Be A Perfect Day by Donny & Marie Osmond
  17. Hotel California by Eagles
  18. Suicide is Painless (The Theme to M*A*S*H) by Mike Altman & Johnny Mandel
  19. Love Will Keep Us Together by Captain & Tenille
  20. You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone
  21. More Than A Feeling by Boston
  22. Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas
  23. Reunited by Peaches and Herb
  24. the entire soundtrack to Grease
  25. Xanadu by Olivia Newton John (from the movie Xanadu)

Had to stop myself at 25.  Welcome to the geekery.
